- Job Duties:
- We are seeking a reliable and physically fit individual to join our pecan farm as an Equipment Operator and Orchard Worker. This position is seasonal/annual and requires operating a tractor to spray trees at designated times, calculating and applying the correct chemical quantities (training provided, but at least 3 months of experience required), and operating a chainsaw and pruning tower for tree maintenance. The employee must be able to operate a tractor with a pull-type mower, perform routine machinery service and minor repairs, and operate harvesting equipment including a tree shaker, sweeper, and harvester (training available for experienced tractor operators). The role also includes learning to operate a pecan pre-cleaner and load pecans onto trucks, assisting with irrigation work and repairs, and maintaining a safety-conscious approach to all tasks. Applicants should be mechanically inclined, willing to learn, and able to perform physically demanding work in varying conditions. Employer may, at its sole discretion, provide pay increases based on longevity or experience. Employer may also, at its sole discretion, offer performance-based incentive bonuses that are not guaranteed and are determined by the employer. Workers returning for a consecutive season will be paid at their previous season's rate if that rate exceeds the current published rate.
