Job Duties:

We need seasonal employees to assist with our corn, wheat, and soybean crop production season. Employees will support all assigned duties related to growing these row crops. Our operation prepares equipment in February, begins planting in March/April, and continues through harvest in November. Job duties include preparing fields for planting; attaching farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors using bolts and hand tools; operating tractors, planters, sprayers, seed drills, and other farm equipment; and engaging in planting, weeding, spraying, cultivating, and harvesting activities. Employees will fertilize, dust, and spray crops, including applying fertilizer or pesticide solutions using hand sprayers to control insects, fungus, weeds, and diseases. Additional tasks include loading and unloading crops or materials manually or with conveyors, hand trucks, forklifts, or transfer augers; loading hoppers, containers, or conveyors using forklifts, augers, suction gates, shovels, or pitchforks; and mixing materials or chemicals and loading solutions, powders, or seeds into machinery. Workers must observe and listen to machinery to detect malfunctions; position boxes or attach bags at discharge ends of machinery; remove and close full containers; weigh crop-filled containers and record weights and identifying information; attach equipment extensions or accessories; operate harvesting equipment; and drive pickup trucks to haul crops, supplies, and tools. Employees will also inspect, adjust, and complete routine maintenance and repairs on equipment. Flexibility, common sense, and strong mathematical ability are highly beneficial for this position. The employer, at its sole discretion, may grant pay increases based on factors such as performance, longevity, and/or experience. Employer may also, at its sole discretion, offer performance-based incentive bonuses that are not guaranteed and are determined by the employer.

Job requires exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures, extensive pushing or pulling, extensive sitting or walking, frequent stooping or bending over, repetitive movements. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must have a regular driver's license. Requires 3 months farm experience.
