Job Description

Full Time:
Yes
Number of Workers Requested:
2
Job Duties:
Job Description: The worker will be responsible for performing fence and waterline repairs to facilitate the execution of various tasks. Responsibilities related to cattle handling include herding cattle to administer required procedures such as castrating, vaccinating, branding (for ownership identification and grade), and weighing (using scales). Additionally, the worker will be tasked with capturing and loading animals onto trucks or into enclosures. The worker may be required to perform fence repairs as needed. During fence work, this includes the installation and removal of barbed wire fencing within the worksite area. The removal process involves taking down metal posts, removing damaged barbed wire, and clearing any debris obstructing the area. During installation, workers will need to prepare the land for the new installation of metal posts and barbed wire ranch fencing. Workers should be prepared to lift up to 50 pounds and walk extensively. The nature of this work is seasonal, as tasks such as castrating, branding, and vaccinating cattle only occur once a year. This seasonal need lasts for approximately three months, during which the worker’s primary responsibility is to perform these tasks, as cattle do not require individual care during the rest of the year. These workers will not be involved in year-round cattle care, but instead, in performing critical, time-sensitive tasks. Their assistance is essential to ensure that these important duties are completed properly. It would be impossible to carry out all necessary tasks without their support. Workers will be required to maintain and operate the provided equipment, at no cost to them. Additionally, they will be responsible for maintaining the property during the tasks, including clearing brush that may pose a threat to livestock due to toxicity.
