- Job Duties:
- The worker will perform seasonal agricultural services directly related to crop production on a grain farm engaged in the planting, growing, and harvesting of crops including corn, wheat, soybeans, and, in some years, dry beans and canola. Duties include driving and operating farm machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest, and store grain crops. The worker will operate tractors and self-propelled equipment, attach and detach farm implements such as plows, discs, and drills, till soil, plant and cultivate crops, tow harvesting equipment, and operate a self-propelled combine during harvest. The worker will transport produce, water, and farm supplies between fields, grain elevators, and on-farm storage locations as part of normal farming operations. The position includes general lubrication, servicing, and routine maintenance of farm machinery, including checking fluid levels and performing minor mechanical repairs to ensure safe and efficient operation. Work is performed during peak seasonal periods and is weather dependent, occurring during planting, growing, and harvest seasons and concluding once fall fieldwork is completed. The worker must follow established safety protocols, operate equipment responsibly, and perform assigned duties in support of timely agricultural production. Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday.
