Job Duties:
Operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing (whether on or off farm) to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday (including on public roads to reach farmer’s fields and/or transport workers to the grocery store, or bank on an as-needed basis. Load agricultural products into trucks, and drive trucks to market or storage facilities. Only one worker will be required to drive. Drivers will be required to possess a valid operators license. All applicants must be able, willing, and qualified to perform the work described in the job order and must be available for the entire period of employment specified in box 3 & 4, Page 1. Job duties include tree planting and invasive species control. Tree planting duties include planting saplings with no greater height than 4' on 2 different locations. This will entail carrying sapling bunches, making a cut in the ground, and tampling in the sapling before moving on to the next planting. We expect that on an average day, a worker will be able to reasonably plant 200+ saplings in an 8 hour day. Invasive species control requires workers to operate hand sprayer or boom sprayers in the application of licensed herbicides, under the supervison of a licensed Vermont State Pesticide Applicator and with use of required supplied PPE. All workers should report to work with their own suitable work clothing and footwear. Workers must be willing to work in varied weather conditions, including temperatures as low as 25 degrees with snow up to one foot deep and as high as 90 degrees with damp mornings. Work requires long periods of standing, bending and kneeling. Workers must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis and be available to work Monday through Friday. Employer will furnish to workers without cost all tools and equipment required to perform duties depending on conditions in the field or orchard. Workers must be able to follow directions given in simple English.

ONLY ONE OF THE FOUR WORKERS NEED TO HAVE A VALID DRIVERS LICENSE. The employer will not guarantee to pay the workers a bonus but reserves the right, at the employers sole discretion, to offer a bonus or to pay an hourly wage rate in excess of the highest applicable rate stated above based on individual factors including but not limited to longevity of employment or exceptional job performance.
