Job Duties:

Crops: Asparagus Planting, grading, harvesting, and picking asparagus. Field work supporting the asparagus harvest will include hand weeding during harvest, hoeing or mechanical weeding, rock picking, removal of asparagus beetles and eggs, mowing, autumn olive removal, and general field clean-up. Workers will operate agricultural equipment and picking carts; drive, load, unload, and transport asparagus carts; palletize harvested asparagus for transport to the hydro-cooling shed; and clean harvest lugs as needed. Additional duties include routine cleaning and servicing of harvest carts and vehicles, farm and shop maintenance, splitting and stacking firewood, cleaning yellow baskets, and maintaining employer-provided housing.

Special Requirements:

2 months experience working in a commercial greenhouse. On-site-training for curtain task. Applicants must furnish affirmative job references from recent employers operating comparable operations establishing acceptable previous experience. Must be physically able to meet and perform all job specifications stated in job order. Must be able to work in the hot humid weather for extended periods of time. Workers are subject to random drug testing at no cost to the employee. All drug testing will occur after the worker begins his or her employment and is not a part of the interview process. Failing or refusing a drug test will result in immediate termination.
