Job Duties:
Worker will manually plant, cultivate, hand harvest, and pack perishable fruits and vegetables solely grown by Leitz Farms, L.L.C. and perform duties in conjunction with the agricultural production of Apples, Blueberries, Cantaloupes, Cucumbers, Peppers, Pickles, Roma Tomatoes, Grape Tomatoes, and Round Tomatoes as directed and monitored by Employer and/or Team Leader including but not limited to; Walking • Stooping • Pushing • Pulling • Bending • Kneeling • Carrying • Stacking • Inspecting • Screening • Lifting Up To Seventy-Five Pounds • Field Set-Up • Tilling Soil • Ground Preparation • Planting • Seeding • Transplanting • Replanting • Harvesting • Weeding / Brush Control • Plastic Mulch Laying / Repair • Mark / Measure • Lift Plastic Mulch Rolls Weighing Ninety Pounds (Coworker Assistance) • Tunnel Assembly / Disassembly • Staking • String / Twine Tying • Sprouting Young Plant Shoots • Shoveling • Ditching • Sweeping • Hoeing • Digging • Filling • Cutting • Carrying • Raking • Thinning • Pruning • Mowing • Watering • Trunk Painting • Applying Fertilizers / Pesticides • Fruit Tree Planting • Clearing Field / Orchard Trees • Rock Removal • Trimming • Cull Removal • Counting • Identify / Detect; Pests, Insects, Fungus, Weeds, Diseases • Pest Control • Drainage Tile Activities • Low Tunnel Assembly • Irrigation Activities; Set-Up, Operate, Monitor, Maintain, Repair, And Remove Irrigation Used In Field / Orchard Production To Water Fruit And Vegetables, As Directed By Employer • Water Crops • Greenhouse Activities • Maintain / Repair Climate Control Systems • Spray Crops • Record Crop Information And Inform Employer Of Crop Progress • Use Of Hand Tools And Power Tools • Operating Tools, Farm Vehicles, Machinery, And Other Agricultural Equipment, Such As But Not Limited To; Forklifts, Pallet Jacks, Tractors, Drawn Attachments / Implements • Attach Farm Implements; Plows, Discs, Trailers, Sprayers, Spreaders • Observe And Listen To Tools, Equipment, Machinery, And Farm Vehicles To Detect Malfunctions • Shipment / Order Preparation • General Packing And Storage Activities Of Employer’s Produce, Including But Not Limited To; Grading, Inspecting, Discarding, Sorting, Sizing, Packing, Weighing, Labeling, Staging, Storing, Loading, Unloading, Palletizing, Assembling Containers / Boxes, Inventorying, Cleaning, Disinfecting, And Sanitizing • Deliver Agricultural Product To Market Or Storage • General Repairs And Maintenance Of Farm Vehicles, Implements, And Mechanical Equipment • Maintain Inventory & Ordering Materials / Supplies • Repair Farm Buildings And Other Structures / Materials • Worker May Never Ride On Agricultural Equipment, Or Any Other Equipment Not Designed For Riding Purposes • Conduct Various Field And Farm Clean-Up Tasks At End Of Season Such As; Stake Pulling / Pick Up / Bundling, Cutting String / Twine, Pick Up / Bale Plastic And Drip Tape, Remove Trash, Clear Debris • Engage In Land, Water, And Other Cultivation Activities. Leitz Farms, L.L.C. is a fixed site grower that owns and/or controls all worksites. Employer provides worker with the appropriate training, instructions, and general oversight for specific job duties. Employer provides worker with the necessary tools, equipment, machinery, and farm vehicles. Workers must comply with all safety, security, and quality practices and policies of Employer for all job duties. Workers must listen to, understand, and follow instructions of Employer and/or Team Leader for training, safety, security, and quality purposes. Workers must be able to work both independently and as part of a team depending on the needs of the day, the weather, crop conditions, and market demands. Worker must be prepared to transition between individual and group-based activities as directed by Employer and/or Team Leader.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: 90 verifiable days of agricultural experience on a commercial farm operation in fruit or vegetable harvest / production required. Applicants must furnish verifiable job references from employers within the last 5 years establishing acceptable prior experience. JOB REQUIRES WORKER TO COMPLETE TASKS IN: Blueberries Cantaloupes - Cucumbers Roma Tomatoes Grape Tomatoes Round Tomatoes Apples Pickles - Peppers. Drug testing done at employers expense and not utilized as preemployment tool.
