- Job Duties:
- L&J Innovations seeks certification for 300 H2A workers. The total number of workers needed is 305. Please note that the Employer will require a total of three hundred (300) H-2A workers under this contract. Of these, two hundred and twenty (220) workers commence work on April 22, 2026 and work in Yuma (Yuma County) until June 21, 2026. These 220 workers will then move to Blythe (Riverside County) on approximately June 22, 2026 to continue work until August 16, 2026. The remaining eighty (80) workers will commence work in Blythe (Riverside County) on approximately June 8, 2026 and work until August 16th, 2026.
Melon Harvest- Workers will harvest cantaloupe and honeydew melons, including packing, stacking, cutting, pitching, and sorting product.
Shed Labor- Workers will unload onto the line (pitchers), pack product, apply stickers, stack product, put lids on and strap product, perform traceability and receiving tagging, set up cartons and bins, sanitation. The shed is located less than three miles from the ranch located at 10610 Ice Plant Rd. Blythe, CA. *Even locations that are near or adjacent to the farm are considered on the farm. See Brennan v. Sugar Cane Growers Cooperative of Florida, 486 F.2d. 1006, 1011 (5th Cir. 1974). (Camp cooking facilities were 15 miles from the farm.)
Crew Lead- Team Leaders will additionally be responsible for checking quality, filling out paperwork, and receiving orders for production. May clock in other workers. This is not a supervisory position. This position is in support of supervisors.
Machine set up- Worker will check the machine for water and diesel; Put sticker on bags; Supply cartons for the day and put on the machine; Open or close machine; Put machine where crew will start; move trailer, drive tractor and caterpillar.
General Labor- Weeding using long-handled hoes, transplanting, runner cutting, plant thinning, and ranch maintenance, pulling plastic, pulling of drip tape, cleaning of old and new vegetative growth on plant bed. Plant bed will be classified as “Medium” or “High” according to the amount of runners and new/old vegetative growth present during performing work task.
Agriculture Equipment Operator – Agriculture equipment operators will drive and control tractors in fields.
Sanitation Worker – The sanitation worker is responsible for the cleaning, maintenance, and relocation of restroom facilities on agricultural worksites, including farms and fields. Duties include the operation of pressure-washing equipment to sanitize restrooms, harvest machinery, and other necessary equipment. The worker must ensure all cleaning procedures meet health and safety standards, maintaining a sanitary and compliant work environment.
