Job Duties:
The employer operates a diversified crop and livestock farm and requires temporary agricultural workers from March through December due to seasonal increases in labor associated with calving, crop production, pasture management, weaning, and marketing of livestock. Labor demand during this period exceeds normal year-round operational needs. Workers will perform duties related to cattle care, crop production, equipment operation, and general farm maintenance. Livestock Duties include; Provide daily care of cow/calf herd including feeding, watering, monitoring animal health, and observing livestock for signs of illness or injury. Assist with calving operations including monitoring cows, assisting with difficult births when necessary, and caring for newborn calves. Move, gather, sort, and load cattle using horseback, ATV, or pickup as needed. Wean calves, maintain livestock containment, and prepare cattle for transport and sale. Maintain fences, pens, watering systems, and livestock facilities. Crop Production Duties include; Operate agricultural equipment equipped with GPS technology including tractors, trucks, planters, drills, sprayers, combines, grain carts, loaders, and feed trucks used for cultivating, tilling, fertilizing, planting, spraying, harvesting, hauling, and storing crops including wheat, milo, corn, soybeans, silage, and hay. Perform dryland farming practices including no-till planting and crop management activities. General Farm Duties include; Perform minor daily maintenance and incidental repair of farm equipment and work areas. Conduct fence repair, mowing, weed control, and general upkeep of farmsteads and agricultural facilities. Assist with loading grain, operating around grain storage facilities, and maintaining a clean and safe worksite. Seasonal Work Schedule includes; March–May: Calving season; intensive monitoring and care of cows and newborn calves; fence and water system maintenance; June–September: Move livestock to pasture; monitor herd health; maintain fencing and watering facilities; crop spraying, planting, and field operations; October–November: Wean calves; sort livestock; prepare cattle for sale; harvest operations; December: Sort and ship yearlings; move livestock to winter holding areas; speak and understand English.

Special Requirements:
Two (2) months of recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
