- Job Duties:
- Duties Crops/Commodities: carrot seed, grass seed, hay, cover crop, nursery stock and hazelnuts. This job position encompasses irrigation of all crops that are grown, as well as other irrigation related job tasks that include, but are not limited to: 1.Operate/maintain irrigation equipment. 2.Irrigation related shoveling, ditching, weed eating, weed removal from ditch bank, fi eld border cleaning, hauling and ground preparation. 3.Bending, stooping and kneeling required. 4.Use of hand tools as needed for irrigation purposes include, but are not limited to, hoes, picks, bars, shovels, shears, clippers, loppers and saws. 5.Lift, carry and load/unload products or supplies. 6.Apply irrigation related pesticides, herbicides, fungicides and other crop protectants. 7.Backpack spray as required. 8.Mix and apply fertilizers, plant growth chemicals, conditioners and other plant related treatments at the correct times, depending on plant type, growth, climate and crop conditions. 9.Assist with light maintenance of farm buildings, structures, equipment as needed 10.Build/repair fences, including wildlife exclusion fences 11.Perform other irrigation related manual tasks.
