- Job Duties:
- Workers will perform manual and machine-assisted tasks related to the production of hay. pasture clipping, and general farm operations. Duties include preparing fields for planting by disking, fertilizing, and preparing seedbeds; operating agricultural equipment including tractors, mower-conditioners, rakes, tedders, and balers; cutting, raking, tedding, and baling hay (square and/or round bales); and loading, stacking, and transporting hay bales both manually and with equipment. Workers will monitor field and moisture conditions to ensure proper harvesting and quality hay production and may apply fertilizers or crop protectants as directed. Employees will perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on farm equipment, maintain irrigation systems if applicable, and clean and maintain farm buildings, equipment, and work areas. Additional duties may include fencing repair, barn upkeep, and other general farm labor as assigned. Workers must be able to lift and carry hay bales weighing up to 75 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday. Work will be performed outdoors in varying weather conditions, including exposure to heat, dust, pollen, and other environmental elements. Employees must follow all safety procedures and supervisor instructions.
