Job Duties:
A Kauai Coffee Farm worker will work in the Orchard performing various tasks in weed and vine control, irrigation, pruning, and preparing ground for harvest. Workers may cut down and remove weeds in the orchard with use of brush cutters, sickles, and hedgers. May also use the following: fertilizer injector, sprayers, farm machines, and operate tractor/farm trucks with twoway radio and with implements such as plow/harrow, disk, bed shaper, roll tiller, fertilizer hopper, seed driller/planter, manure/sand spreader and soil spreader, in fields, to till soil, plant, cultivate, and tender to crops. Uses a knapsack to spot spray weeds. Set irrigation line, check for leaks, flush out debris and repair line to irrigate seedlings. May use irrigation trailer. A worker may harvest crops by picking, pulling, cleaning, and cutting.

Must be 18 years or older. It is recommended that you have experience with Agricultural Equipment and knowledge of Agricultural Filed work due to safety reasons related to possible equipment injury, heat stroke possibility, and food safety. The employer may conduct criminal background checks on all new applicants for employment. Workers who drive, must have a valid driver's license. Workers should come prepared wearing appropriate clothing and footwear for the environmental and working conditions described. Cell phone can only be used during breaks, emergencies, and to communicate with supervisor when needed. Duties may vary from time to time. Workers will be supervised by a designated supervisor who gives general instructions, direction and observe work performed. Must be able to work outdoors in direct sunlight and weather conditions will be hot and humid, rain and be exposed to pollen the entire day while performing their required job duties.
