Job Duties:
The employer operates a diversified agricultural operation consisting of corn and soybean row crop production, livestock production, and custom agricultural services. Workers are needed on a temporary or seasonal basis to assist with agricultural production during peak labor periods including planting, growing, application of manure, spraying of custom spray herbicides, livestock care, and harvest seasons. Workers will perform a combination of manual and machine-assisted agricultural tasks. Duties require physical labor as well as skilled operation of farm equipment. Duties Include (but are not limited to): Crop Production Operate tractors and agricultural equipment used in planting, cultivating, fertilizing, spraying, and harvesting corn and soybeans. Prepare fields for planting including tillage and fertilizer application. Load and unload seed, fertilizer, and crop inputs. Assist with grain handling, hauling, and storage operations. Perform field maintenance and general farm labor as required. Custom Agricultural Application Assist with and operate equipment used in custom crop spraying and nutrient application. Set up, move, and monitor dragline manure pumping systems used for agricultural fertilization. Handle hoses, fittings, and field equipment associated with manure application. Follow nutrient management plans and environmental safety procedures. Livestock Care. Care for swine and turkey livestock including feeding assistance, bedding placement, barn preparation, monitoring animal condition, and facility cleaning. Observe animals for signs of injury or illness and report to supervisor. Follow required sanitation and biosecurity practices. Transportation of Agricultural Products. Operate farm trucks and semi-trucks to transport agricultural commodities, inputs, equipment, and bedding materials between fields and farm facilities as part of normal agricultural operations. No CDL required. Equipment Maintenance Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs on agricultural machinery and equipment including lubrication, cleaning, inspection, and seasonal preparation. Maintain work areas, equipment, and facilities in safe operating condition. Workers who possess a valid driver’s license and meet all applicable legal requirements, including holding a doctor’s certificate as required by 29 CFR § 500.105, may be asked to drive vehicles for transporting workers, goods, or commodities on company business. This task is voluntary, compensable, and not a mandatory job duty. Workers without a valid driver’s license or doctor’s certificate will still be fully eligible for employment and are not disqualified from any other job responsibilities outlined in this application. The employer can and will make alternative arrangements for the transportation of workers should the need arise.

Special Requirements:
2 months of verifiable agricultural equipment operation experience. Ability to safely operate tractors and farm machinery. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently. Must be able to walk, bend, stoop, reach, climb, and perform repetitive physical tasks. Work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, dust, mud, and livestock environments. Workers must be able to work long hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays when required by crop and livestock conditions. Work Environment Work takes place in agricultural fields, livestock barns, and farm facilities. Exposure to dust, odors, noise, agricultural chemicals, and livestock is expected.
