Job Duties:
The Operator will perform a wide variety of grain handling and facility operations. Duties include loading and unloading grain commodities and products by truck, rail, or conveyor systems using forklifts, transfer augers, shovels, and other manual tools. The Operator will grade grain, conduct appropriate tests, weigh trucks in and out, and use computerized systems to process operational data. Grain handling duties include moving, filling, reclaiming piles, transferring, blending grain, and operating grain dryers. The Operator will operate wheel loaders, forklifts, skid steers, and similar equipment and perform general housekeeping of equipment, buildings, and grounds. The Operator will assist supervisors and other personnel, perform or assist with routine maintenance and repairs, and travel to neighboring facilities as needed. The Operator may also perform basic wood construction and facility improvement tasks in support of grain and agricultural operations. These duties may include building, repairing, or modifying bins, sheds, platforms, docks, catwalks, or other agricultural structures; measuring, cutting, and assembling wood or other materials; replacing boards, posts, panels, or structural components; assisting with concrete work; performing minor building renovations; site preparation and cleanup; loading and transporting construction materials; and using hand and power tools as needed. Construction-related duties will be incidental to and in support of normal agricultural and grain facility operations. The Operator will perform all duties in compliance with company safety programs and applicable government regulations and participate in required safety training. All other duties assigned by management must be performed. Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday.

Special Requirements:
This position is physically demanding and requires indoor and outdoor work in all weather conditions, including noisy and dusty environments. The Operator must be able to work in confined spaces and at heights and perform activities such as walking, standing, climbing, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting. The job requires lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 40 pounds frequently and up to 60 pounds occasionally. The Operator must be able to read and understand written and verbal operational and safety instructions and communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors. The Operator must be able to perform basic mechanical repairs, basic math functions, and read and understand measurements. Personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, gloves, respiratory protection, and hearing protection must be worn as required. Workers must be willing to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
