Job Duties:

Engage in the agricultural production of pumpkin and sunflower fields: weeding/spraying for weeds, harvesting crops. Caring for farm animals (pigs): feeding/watering, reporting illnesses, and cleaning out shelters. General farm upkeep and maintenance: mowing/weed eating, repairs to fences or other structures (less than 50% of work hours in the contract period.) Apple cider production: sorting apples, monitoring cider press. Farmers markets: preparing produce, transporting products to farmers markets.

Special Requirements:

All workers must have at least 3 months of experience working with apples in orchards, pumpkins and sunflowers. Specific requirements include lifting up to 50 pounds frequently and ability to use hand tools, including electric pruning shears Must be able to work under conditions where skin and clothing become heavily soiled with mud, water, grease, etc. Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather conditions, including rain, cold, high winds, etc. Work involves frequent bending and working in bent or stooped positions. Must be able to walk and stand up extensively. No smoking, alcohol, firearms at the worksite or residential housing.
