Job Duties:

Tractor Operator / Agricultural Equipment Operator (Sweet Potato Transplanting) Workers will perform duties associated with the planting and transplanting of sweet potatoes and related agricultural activities. Primary responsibilities include operating agricultural tractors to pull sweet potato transplanters in field conditions. Operators must safely and efficiently drive tractors in straight rows for extended periods, maintain proper spacing and alignment, and coordinate speed and positioning with transplanting crews. Workers will perform basic equipment inspection and maintenance, including but not limited to: Checking and maintaining proper fluid levels (fuel, oil, hydraulic fluid, coolant) Greasing machinery and lubrication points Inspecting tires, hoses, belts, and connections Cleaning equipment to ensure proper operation Reporting mechanical issues to supervisors promptly Employees must communicate effectively with supervisors and crew leaders regarding field conditions, soil moisture, planting depth, spacing accuracy, equipment performance, and any planting-related concerns to ensure quality crop establishment. Some workers may be required to transport workers to and from fields using employer-provided vehicles. Workers assigned to driving duties must possess the appropriate, valid driver’s license as required by law and must maintain a clean driving record in accordance with company policy and applicable regulations. Workers should expect occasional periods of little or no work because of weather, crop, or other conditions beyond the employer's control. Workers will be orientated and instructed to follow all safety protocols, operate equipment in a safe and responsible manner, and comply with all company policies and federal, state, and local regulations. 3 Month experience needed. Workers must be able to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time and work in extreme temperatures.

This position requires the ability to perform the essential physical duties described in Section B.4 and B.6, including prolonged standing, walking, bending, lifting, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Applicants must be physically capable of performing these essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Any health conditions must be managed so as not to interfere with the safe and effective performance of required duties. Up to 4 workers may be assigned to transport workers to and from worksites using employer-provided buses. Workers assigned to driving responsibilities must possess and maintain a valid U.S. Class A or Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with Passenger (P) endorsement, or a foreign license recognized as equivalent. Driving duties will constitute less than five percent (5%) of the workers total work hours.
