- Job Duties:
- The Employer seeks certification for 24 H-2A workers. The total number of workers needed during this season is 24. Of these, 3 workers will start work approximately on May 11, 2026. The remaining 21 workers will start work on approximately July 22, 2026.
*All work will be performed in the field and on the farm.
Agriculture Field Irrigators: Workers inspect all irrigation pipe and assemble all pipe with risers, sprinklers and irrigation components. Pipe is loaded onto trailers, transported to the fields, and installed as fields are prepared for irrigation during planting. Workers set irrigation pumps, monitor drainage ditches, perform daily crop irrigation, and complete routing maintenance such as replacing gaskets or sprinkler heads. Workers may also configure the irrigation system for frost protection. Duties include laying out and picking up pipe as needed and stacking it for end-of-season storage. With heavy rainfall, workers may also have to use shovels and portable pumps to remove excess water from the fields. Workers will also prepare and maintain the wastewater lagoon area for solid set irrigation and aeration guns, monitoring the system throughout the season. Workers operate tractors with wagons as well as ATV’s and UTV’s
Field Worker: Celery Harvest: Hand Cutting - Workers hand-harvest fresh celery by cutting, trimming and loading fresh celery in the field. Using a hand-harvesting knife and bending at the waist, the worker cuts the stalk from the roots, removes the excess leaf and outer petioles, and places the prepared celery onto the harvester for packing into field totes. Celery Harvest: Automatic Harvester - Workers may operate farm harvesting equipment, including automatic harvester, and tractors with wagons, to assist with removing celery from the fields. These processes are repeated continuously throughout the harvest. Workers may then transport the packed celery to the WIP Packing Facility to load and unload the celery. The loading and unloading of the celery is incidental to and in conjunction with the farming operations. Workers may perform weeding and may operate agricultural vehicles such as ATVs and UTVs on the Farm. Workers may also wash, clean and store farm equipment, wagons, totes, related harvest tools, etc.
WIP (Work in Progress) Facility Worker: After field harvest, continual work is performed in the Work In Progress Facility. Employees will do a variety of tasks; forklift operation, staging product, tote dump, inspection, shoveling waste, slicing/dicing inspection area, removal of waste, assemble shipping containers, tote fill, scale, ticketing, scanners, daily production logs and final celery packaging. All employees will assist with daily sanitation both outside and inside the facility. This work falls under the definition of secondary agriculture as it is performed by a farmer and is incidental and in conjunction with the harvest activities. All celery is owned by the Employer.
