Job Duties:
1. Discard inferior or defective potatoes or foreign matter 2. Grade and sort potatoes according to factors such as color, length, width, appearance, feel, smell, appearance, disease, damage and quality to ensure correct processing and usage. 3. Record grade or identification numbers of products. 4. Take quality samples by loading a bucket with potatoes and providing to QC department for rating. 5. Communicate with supervisor on the quality of product being graded. 6. Alert supervisor if there are mechanical issues with the equipment and assist with light maintenance 7. Perform general site cleanup, including sweeping, shoveling, washing, picking up potatoes. 8. Cleaning equipment with a brush, hose, broom etc. to keep the work area free of debris. 9. Position involves standing, using hands to grab materials, reaching and bending over a moving conveyer belt continuously. 10. Work conditions may involve working in a hot, dusty, or wet work environment. All tools will be provided at no cost.

Special Requirements:
2 months experience working with potatoes is required. Repetitive movements, extensive reaching and pulling, extensive walking, standing, bending and stooping will be required. Work may be required outdoors when temperatures can vary from very hot to very cold, and potentially wet, or dry/dusty conditions. Due to the complexity of the weather and harvesting conditions, workers may be requested to work long days, as well as Saturdays, Sundays, or Federal Holidays, depending on the field conditions, crop yields, customer demands, and weather conditions. Therefore, hours above 40 hours per week may be offered, but are not guaranteed and are voluntary to be worked by the employee.
