Job Duties:

Stonewood Farm, Inc. is an open-range operation with a temporary need for workers during specific peak periods. Additional labor is required for processing activities in June and September, as well as for the growing and slaughtering season from October through December. This position is not year-round because the employer’s labor needs are seasonal and temporary. All operations take place on the farm, and 100 percent of the poultry processed is raised by Stonewood Farm, Inc. Workers will assist with feeding, cleaning, and raising poultry for slaughter. Workers will care for poults, including setting up brooder areas by preparing and cleaning housing, arranging bedding, feed, and water systems, and ensuring proper temperature, ventilation, and lighting conditions. Workers will provide feeding, monitor and maintain flock health, and prepare birds to reach market weight. Workers will identify, remove, and properly dispose of dead, diseased, or injured turkeys in accordance with farm protocols and applicable regulations. Workers will perform all aspects of poultry processing, including cleaning, slaughtering, and dressing the birds for market. Workers will clean and sanitize all rooms and equipment in accordance with USDA specifications, including blood pans, rendering barrels, floors, restrooms, and walls. Workers will catch and transport fowl to the processing area; hang live poultry in shackles and perform bleed-out procedures; make required knife cuts; remove, separate, and prepare viscera; debone and grind meat; and apply labels and record weights. In addition to these responsibilities, workers will perform general farm maintenance and assist with any new infrastructure projects or improvements as needed. Workers may be asked to operate trucks or other multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing (whether on or off farm) to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday (including on public roads to reach farmer's fields); and/or transport workers to the grocery store, bank, or laundry facilities on an as needed basis. Workers that are requested to drive will be required to possess a valid driver’s license; no worker will be rejected for not having a driver's license. Workers who do drive will still perform the same field work and other duties as non-driving workers; driving is not a primary duty. Workers must be able to safely operate agricultural equipment and perform duties under a variety of environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures, high humidity, direct sun, moderate winds, snow, and wet conditions. While working inside the barn, workers should expect temperatures to reach approximately 95°F or higher, particularly during warmer periods. The assigned duties are physically demanding and require prolonged walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting. Workers must be able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds on a frequent basis. Workers are offered to work 9-hour shifts within the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday, for a total of 54 hours per week. The 7:00AM to 7:00PM range accounts for varying poultry processing needs, such as flock readiness and processing schedules, to ensure that workers can complete the required weekly hours. Workers will not be scheduled to work a full 12-hour shift . Workers will be provided with a 60-minute lunch break, staggered between 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., as determined by both the workers and management. Workers may choose where to eat their lunch and must return to work after the 60-minute break. In addition, workers will receive a 15-minute break in the morning
