Job Duties:

CUTTERS: The worker will walk down the watermelon field rows where the watermelon will be harvested. The worker will first cut the vine off the watermelon with a small knife and turn the watermelon over. LOADERS: While the field truck is in slow movement and in a row of up to 5 workers to each side of the field truck, the worker will bend over harvesting the ripe watermelon which can weigh a maximum of 20lbs from the ground and tossing the watermelon to the worker next to him and this worker will toss the watermelon to the next worker and so on, until the watermelon is then tossed to the person inside the field truck who will place the watermelon on the floor. UNLOADERS: When the field truck is full, the workers will unload the watermelon from the bus. GENERAL DUTIES: Plastic pulling, mulch clean-up, general clean-up and other miscellaneous duties may also be done. PACKING SHED: workers will unload them onto a belt
