Job Duties:

Workers are needed for summer work on horseradish produced on land controlled by Bluff View Farm, Inc. Experience in working with horseradish root is preferred. Workers must be able to work as a team and be able to tolerate long periods of bending and stooping during the hot and humid summer. Consistent and reliable attendance is expected. The owner or a supervisor will make daily individual or crew assignments and the location of work as the need for the operation dictates. Some sorting and packing of horseradish may be required periodically. Duties can vary daily in the field including lifting, suckering, hoeing and clearing weeds. Removing weeds in the crop will help prevent thinning and damage to the established crop. Around the farm, duties may include sorting, packing, mowing, cleaning horseradish equipment or packing sheds, especially if weather delays field activities. The worker needs to expect that their clothing will be wet most of the day due to heavy dews in the morning and from sweat later in the day as temperature rises.
