Job Duties:
Workers will perform assigned duties as instructed by their supervisor. Duties may vary from time to time. Following the Supervisors instructions, the worker will fulfill the following duties: Loading Watermelon: Walking through field and loading watermelons onto the bus. Paid per pallet. Packing/Unloading: Watermelons: Unloading watermelons from bus onto the conveyor belt for packing. Packing watermelons into harvest containers. Paid per pallet. Cutting Watermelons: Workers are to walk along watermelon vines in the harvest field and clip ripe watermelons from vine and load clipped watermelons into harvest vehicle or containers. Paid per pallet. Harvesting Peppers (Banana Peppers): Using a harvesting bucket, remove mature produce from the plant with both hands and place into the bucket. Repeat the process on each plant until the bucket is full. Then lift the bucket and place on your shoulder, stand upright and walk at a safe pace until you reach the truck with bins. Lift the bucket from your shoulder with both hands and hand it to the person next the bin. The person next to the harvest container, will dumps the produce into the bin and returns the bucket to worker. Repeat process. Paid per Bucket. Harvesting Peppers (Destemmed Banana): Using a harvesting bucket, remove mature produce from the plant with both hands and place into the bucket. Repeat the process on each plant until the bucket is full. Then lift the bucket and place on your shoulder, stand upright and walk at a safe pace until you reach the truck with bins. Lift the bucket from your shoulder with both hands and hand it to the person next the bin. The person next to the harvest container will dumps the produce into the bin and returns the bucket to worker. Repeat process. Paid per Bucket. Harvesting Peppers (Hot Cherry Peppers): Using a harvesting bucket, remove mature produce from the plant with both hands and place into the bucket. Repeat the process on each plant until the bucket is full. Then lift the bucket and place it on your shoulder, stand upright and walk at a safe pace until you reach the truck with bins. Lift the bucket from your shoulder with both hands and hand it to the person next to the bin. The person next to the harvest container will dumps the produce into the bin and returns the bucket to worker. Repeat process. Paid per Bucket. Harvesting Peppers (Sweet Cherry Large): Using a harvesting bucket, remove mature produce from the plant with both hands and place into the bucket. Repeat the process on each plant until the bucket is full. Then lift the bucket and place it on your shoulder, stand upright and walk at a safe pace until you reach the truck with bins. Lift the bucket from your shoulder with both hands and hand it to the person next to the bin. Lift the bucket from your shoulder with both hands and hand it to the person next to the bin. Weeding: Workers are required to walk filed areas directed by management and hand pull weeds from fields and place at directed spots on field.
