Job Duties:

FARM EQUIPMENT OPERATOR: Worker will be required to complete the following activities as directed by supervisor: operate farm machinery such as forklifts, tractors, mowers, harvesters, and trucks for soil preparation, and harvesting and hauling crops including pumpkins, sweet corn, squash, cucumbers, watermelon, summer squash, peppers; prepare soil for crop planting using tillage equipment such as discs, high speed discs, cultivators, in-line rippers, and chisel plows to remove unwanted weeds and hand picking rocks while walking through soft soils; help prepare farm equipment for field work and harvesting; perform routine general repairs and maintenance of farm equipment, including check equipment fluids, change existing engine oil, grease farm equipment, inspect equipment and inform supervisor of any necessary repairs, and help check battery life, air filters, tire pressure, and other parts of farm equipment; drive Employer-provided vehicle to and from the worksite and to locations within 30 miles; drive tractor to and from fields while pulling different attachments; assist with additional duties related to crop harvest; maintenance duties including mowing grass, picking up garbage around the farm, and cleaning farm machinery and buildings; complete daily safety inspections and general maintenance on tractors, vehicles, farm equipment and farm buildings; use basic maintenance tools such as a power washer, shovel, and other hand tools. Experience Requirement: 2 month(s) verifiable experience in commercial agriculture experience driving farm forklifts required. Applicants must furnish job references from employers of the last 5 years establishing acceptable prior experience. Job requires worker to complete tasks in Equipment Operation. Employer will provide instructions and training on specific job duties. Season Commitment: Job offered requires worker be available for work for entire employment period. Drug testing done at employer's expense and not utilized as preemployment tool.
