Job Duties:
The employer is seeking reliable, hardworking individuals to assist with the blueberry packing. Workers will perform assigned duties as instructed by their supervisor. Duties may vary from time to time. Once the blueberries are picked, they will be brought to the packing shed. The workers will sort, grade, clean, pack, weigh, stack, load, and unload the blueberries. Workers will be responsible for selecting berries according to criteria and discarding poor quality, rotting and/or over-ripened berries. Duties also include other general packing shed labor such as, but not limited to, use of labeler, color sorter and box maker machine. Workers must understand the mechanics of the packing machine. They must take care not to damage the berries. Workers will clean areas of trash and debris, sweep, mop, clean restrooms, and clean lugs. Workers must have good hand-eye coordination for the quality of the blueberries and be able to work swiftly with their hands while standing. Repetitive physical conditions such as prolonged standing, heavy bending, stooping, reaching and lifting will be involved on a regular basis.

Workers must be dependable, punctual and constantly alert. They must pay attention to detail and quality and be able to work swiftly with their hands. Workers must adhere to all safety rules as instructed by the supervisor and practice safety in all aspects of work, taking care to handle tools, equipment and product in a manner to avoid injury or damage.
