Job Duties:
H-2A and corresponding domestic workers must be available to perform each of the following job activities in connection with the harvesting and farming operations: Farmworker/Harvester: Lettuce (Romaine, Iceberg, Spring Mix, Green Leaf – Leafy Crops / Leafy Greens), Planting, Growing, Irrigators, Weeding, Cooler-Packing Facility, Prepare freshly harvested crop for shipment, General Farm Labor / General Ranch Maintenance, Forklift Drivers, Tractor Drivers to perform the following duties: Perform manual labor to prepare fields for planting and harvesting of leafy and vegetable crops - lettuce of various leaf varieties and other leafy greens. Workers must till soil, weed, plant, and clean farm areas; perform seed treatment; harvest; participate in irrigation activities, set up / operate irrigation equipment, clear and maintain irrigation ditches. General farm labor will include the following responsibilities: maintain, drive, attach and operate farm implements/tractors/forklifts/equipment/machinery to till soil, plant, space, cultivate, treat seeds, fertilize, weed, thin, and prune/crop plots. Workers may also make minor mechanical adjustments, repairs, and maintenance of farm machinery; may mix and/or spray chemicals (according to appropriate restrictive use laws, when/if applicable); remove undesirable and excess growth from farm grounds; remove rocks from fields; perform general cleanup of farm areas. Cooler (on-site)/Packhouse: Preparing freshly harvested crops for shipment in their original, unmanufactured state. Workers put orders together, pull different packs and packages them together to fill quantities ordered, vacuum cooling process, complete vacuum cooling paperwork, vacuum cooling operator . Unloading and palletizing or lifting bins, cartons, RPCs and totes of product/crop by forklift or by hand. Workers also will be loading the trucks. CHALEQUERO (SAFETY VEST MAN): 75% of the time performs the duties of the jobs mentioned above. Replaces workers on bathroom breaks and assures safety precautions are followed during machine and tractor turns getting off the field or coming back to start new row/furrow.

Special Requirements:
Requirements: 2-month experience in general farm work and harvesting to avoid crop damage and personal injury. Written verification of experience is required. Cannot be color blind due to the need to distinguish colors of the product. Must be able to use shears, clippers and other agricultural tools (i.e., hand saw (can be powered by gas)); no smoking, illegal drugs, alcohol, or weapons of any sort in the housing or work fields. Worker safety on the job and in employer-provided housing is our top priority. Workers may not possess, consume, or be under the influence of alcohol, cannabis, illegal drugs, or other controlled substances at the worksite or in the employer-provided housing.
