Job Duties:

Workers will perform manual labor associated with planting trees. Duties include planting tree seedlings by hand using forestry planting tools such as dibble bars, hoedads, planting bags, shovels. Workers will walk long distances over rough terrain carrying seedlings and equipment. Plant seedlings according to specifications and spacing requirements. Carry seedling bags weighing up to 50 pounds across uneven terrain. Use hand tools to open planting holes and properly place seedlings. Ensure seedlings are planted vertically at correct depth and spacing. Perform site preparation activities including brush clearing and debris removal. Conduct quality control inspections of planted trees. Follow all safety procedures and employer instructions. Work outdoors in varying weather conditions including, heat, cold, rain, mud, and steep terrain. May assist with related duties such as herbicide application support, thinning, tree protection, general land maintenance, cleaning and maintaining equipment used in the operation. Workers must be physically able to bend and stoop for long periods of time. Able to stand on feet for long periods of time. Physically able to meet and perform all job specifications.
