Job Duties:

Agricultural Equipment Operators - 125 full-time temporary positions; approximately 5.5 months; job to begin 8/1/2026 through 1/15/2027 during the annual Louisiana sugarcane harvest and grinding season; Duties include operating agricultural hauling equipment and related agricultural vehicles to transport harvested sugarcane from fields to the raw sugar mill during the seasonal Louisiana sugarcane harvest and grinding season. Work performed is directly tied to the seasonal sugarcane harvest and grinding operations in South Louisiana. Workers will operate equipment owned and leased by River Road Cane Growers, Inc. $14.84 per hour; 40 hours per week, Overtime may vary and is not guaranteed. Valid driver’s license or commercial driving authorization required. Three (3) months experience operating agricultural hauling equipment required. Must meet applicable DOT/FMCSA and State requirements. Job involves extensive sitting, repetitive movements, and working outside in inclement weather. Once hired, workers may be subject to lawful employment-related or random drug testing consistent with DOT and employer safety requirements at no cost to the worker. All work tools, supplies, and equipment will be provided at no charge. Housing and transportation provided to workers who cannot reasonably return to their permanent residence at the end of the workday; transportation and subsistence expenses to the work site will be provided by the employer upon completion of 50% of the work contract, or earlier, if appropriate. Employer agrees to offer the worker employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays of the total period beginning with the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment or the advertised contractual first date of need, whichever is later, and ending on the expiration date specified in the work contract or in its extensions, if any. River Road Cane Growers, Inc. will provide employment to any qualified, eligible U.S. workers who apply to the employer until 50 percent of the period of the work contract has elapsed which is October 24, 2026. Employer is an entity that is a member of the American Sugar Cane League that grows, harvests, and processes sugar cane in Louisiana.
