Job Duties:

Perform any combination of the following tasks required in the production and the bringing-to-market of citrus, berries, mixed vegetables, and flowers. These tasks include (but are not limited to): the operation, adjustment, repair, and servicing of farm machinery to till soil, plant, cultivate, fertilize, and harvest crops; the irrigation of crops; the operation, maintenance, and repair of varied types of wells and pumps; mechanical weeding using long-handled hand tools/removal of excess plant growth from farm grounds; the installation, removal, and storage of pipe from fields; the manual planting/care/picking/harvesting of varied crops; the packing of varied crops; the accompanying of crops to market via refrigerated vehicles; on-farm preparation of beds and fields, including grading, application of mulch/compost, maintenance of farm access areas, upkeep of decomposed granite agricultural surfaces; and the maintenance of farm infrastructure, including fences, access roads, drainage areas, and agricultural trails necessary for crop production and field access. Incidental work with livestock (Chickens, Sheep, possibly duck) includes egg collection, feeding/watering. Workers must possess the ability to regularly climb up and down, on, into and out of tractor and trailers; assist with the loading and unloading of vehicles; clean soiled lights, windows and mirrors; add oil and engine fuel as needed.

Special Requirements:

This job requires a minimum of 3 months of prior experience doing similar agricultural work. Workers must be able to perform all duties with accuracy and efficiency. Applicants must be able to furnish verbal or written statements establishing relevant prior work experience. Saturday work is required. Must be able to lift/carry 55 lbs. If applicable, post-hire employer-paid motor vehicle records will be required. Cannot be color blind due to the need to distinguish colors of crops, able to use shears and other agricultural tools, no smoking, illegal drugs, alcohol, or weapons of any sort in the dormitories or work fields. Ability to communicate in English or Spanish is required for training and safety purposes. Employment experience to be verified verbally.
