Job Duties:
Job Duties - Description of the specific services or labor to be performed: Irrigator Crew An irrigator on a farm crew installs, maintains, and repairs irrigation systems (drip or sprinkler) to ensure proper crop hydration. They monitor water flow, operate pumps, and move pipe lines, often performing physically demanding tasks like lifting 40-lb pipes, while driving tractors to manage irrigation coverage across fields. Key Responsibilities System Installation & Maintenance: Installing, assembling, and repairing pumps, aluminum pipes, drip tape, sprinkler heads, and valves. Water Management: Starting pumps, monitoring water flow, water pressure, and inspecting fields to prevent waste or over/under-watering. Pipe Movement: Manually moving and assembling "hand lines" across fields, often in wet or muddy conditions. Equipment Operation: Driving tractors to transport irrigation pipe. Field Maintenance: Clearing debris from irrigation lines, sprinkler heads, and conducting minor repairs on equipment. Required Skills and Physical Requirements Physical Stamina: Ability to walk on uneven ground and lift or carry heavy pipes (approx. 40 lbs) continuously. Mechanical Aptitude: Capability to fix broken pipe, repair leaks, and handle tools safely. Safety Adherence: Following safety protocols, especially regarding tractor operation and high-pressure water systems. Field Workers (Baby Leaf: Organic Spring Mix, Organic Kale, Organic Arugula, Organic Chards, Organic Bok Choi, Organic Spinach, Organic Baby Spinach, Organic Cilantro, Organic Parsley) to perform the following duties. Harvesting Organic spring mix, kale, baby leaf, spinach, arugula, chard is cut by harvest machine. Harvest machine up loads product via conveyor belt and with assistance from workers product is loaded and hand compacted into totes. Full totes are off loaded from conveyor belt onto trailer (of the same height) and placed on a pallet to be loaded into reefer trailers for shipment. This process is repeated. Worker is responsible for cleaning of equipment and cleaning work area. Harvesting Organic Bunch Parsley, Organic Bunch Cilantro, and Organic Bunch Spinach is bunched, cut, twist tied, and packed in the field. Worker is on their knees, collect enough product in hand to make a bunch, using a harvesting hand knife makes a straight cut right at ground level, then applies a twist tie to each bunch. Bunches are picked up and placed in cartons periodically. This process is repeated. Worker is responsible for cleaning of equipment and cleaning work area. Harvesting Organic Romaine is cut, trimmed to meet quality standards and packed in the field. Worker is walking through field, using a harvesting hand knife makes a straight cut right at ground level, then trims to specifications and packs into bags, totes or cartons. This process is repeated. Worker is responsible for cleaning of equipment and cleaning work area. Harvesting Kale full-size is hand picked in field and packed in the field. Worker is walking through field, using hands to hand pick product. Product is placed in cartons or totes periodically. This process is repeated. Worker is responsible for cleaning of equipment and cleaning work area. Machine set up includes: Check machine for fluids, inspect machine to make sure it’s clean and in worker order; Put sticker on bags and cartons; Supply cartons for the day and put on the machine; Open or close machine; Put machine where crew will start; Move trailer. Drive tractor. Operate the machine.

Special Requirements:
Minimum Job Qualifications: 1 month of harvest experience in any of the commodities listed. Work is performed in open fields and may involve exposure to mud, dust, wind, heat, cold, and other natural elements. Temperatures can range from 30 degrees Fahrenheit to over 100 degrees Fahrenheit during the period of employment. Workers should come prepared with appropriate clothing and footwear for the environmental and working conditions described. No smoking, alcohol, firearms in the field or residential housing. Ability to communicate in English or Spanish is required for training and safety purposes. (i.e. Workers must listen to, understand and follow instructions of Employer supervisors and managers.)
