Job Duties:

Workers will perform duties associated with the harvest, handling, transportation, and storage of sweet potatoes. Duties include operating tractors and agricultural equipment during harvest; driving trucks and forklifts to transport, load, and unload harvested sweet potatoes from the field into storage facilities; communicating with field supervision; grading and monitoring harvest quality; performing general farm work as assigned, and communicating field conditions, soil moisture, equipment performance, and harvest quality concerns to supervisors and crew leaders. Workers will perform routine equipment inspection and maintenance, including checking and maintaining fuel, oil, hydraulic fluid, and coolant levels, greasing machinery, inspecting tires, hoses, belts, and connections, cleaning equipment, and promptly reporting mechanical issues. Some workers may be required to transport workers to and from fields using employer-provided vehicles and must possess the appropriate valid driver's license, maintain a clean driving record, and comply with all applicable regulations. Workers will receive safety training and must follow all company safety rules and federal, state, and local regulations while operating equipment safely and responsibly. Three (3) months of verifiable experience operating agricultural equipment is required. Workers must be able to sit or stand for extended periods, lift and carry work-related materials, work outdoors in extreme temperatures and varying weather conditions, and should expect occasional periods of little or no work due to weather, crop, or other conditions beyond the employer's control.

Special Requirements:

Three (3) months of verifiable experience operating agricultural equipment is required. Workers must safely operate tractors, forklifts, trucks, and other agricultural equipment used during harvest. Workers assigned driving responsibilities for transporting workers must possess and maintain a valid U.S. Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement, or a foreign license recognized as equivalent under applicable FMCSA regulations, and maintain an acceptable driving record. Workers must follow all safety rules, company policies, and applicable regulations. Workers must communicate effectively with field supervisors regarding field conditions, equipment performance, harvest progress, and crop quality. Workers must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods, work outdoors in extreme temperatures, and should expect occasional periods of little or no work due to weather, crop, or other conditions beyond the employer's control.
