- Job Duties:
- Job duties for this position include but are not limited to: prepare earthworm feedstock and feed earthworms using long handled pitchfork in a repetitive motion, Maintain earthworm habitats, irrigating worm beds, repair of worm beds, structure and shading. Workers will build, repair and maintain greenhouses, repair, set and move irrigation lines, emitters and timers.. Operates tractors, loaders and pallet jacks to move pallets, worm beds and supplies, as well as greasing, cleaning and maintaining this equipment. Packaging products such as worm castings and bagging supersacks or smaller sizes. Transfer liquids from storage tank to storage tank utilizing 2-in hoses and transfer pumps. Ground maintenance such as weeding, trimming of bushes and trees, planting flowers, basic repair work on greenhouse structures. For the crops, this application is for Vermiculture, the raising and care of earthworms for agricultural purposes. The worms are fed a variety of greens (lettuce type/grass type) grown on site. Work will be performed outdoors in hot summer heat. Workers will lift 30-40 lbs regularly. Workers must possess 3 months of verifiable experience operating a minimum of 110 HP tractors.
