Job Duties:

Workers will perform daily duties associated with the seasonal care and maintenance of an exotic game ranch during peak production periods related to breeding, calving, feeding, pasture management, and hunting season preparation. Duties include feeding and watering exotic animals, checking animal health and reporting sick or injured animals to supervisors, assisting with moving, sorting, loading, and handling livestock in a safe manner, cleaning pens, shelters, water troughs, and feeding areas, and helping maintain proper habitat conditions for the animals. Workers will operate tractors and other basic farm equipment to mow, haul feed, move materials, maintain roads and trails, and support increased labor demands tied to seasonal exotic ranch operations. Duties also include tracking, spotting, culling, skinning, field dressing animals and performing general upkeep to keep the ranch neat, safe, and in good working order during periods of heavy use. Workers may assist with pasture maintenance, loading and unloading supplies, wildlife habitat improvements, and other duties required during recurring seasonal fluctuations in labor demand common to an exotic game ranch. Work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions and requires lifting, bending, walking, and prolonged standing. 6 months of verifiable experience handling exotic livestock (cape buffalo, sable, kudu, gemsbok) etc, is required. During the off season, the employer will assume responsibility for reduced animal management needs and routine herd oversight.

Special Requirements:

All deductions required by law will be made from the workers paycheck. Social security, federal and state (if applicable) taxes will only be deducted from foreign H-2A workers upon written request. All workers are subject to reasonable repair cost of damage for the repair/replacement of tools and or equipment and the reasonable cost of negligent damage to lodging facilities and vehicles if worker is shown to have caused the shortage or damage by a dishonest or willful act. This may be charged to worker after damage has occurred and upon employees written authorization to make the deduction. Workers who quit or are terminated for cause prior to completing 50% of the contract will be required to reimburse the employer for the full amounts of advanced and/or reimbursed transportation and subsistence.
