- Job Duties:
- Workers will perform manual labor to plant, cultivate, and harvest eggplants, watermelons, cucumbers, and tomatoes in accordance with supervisor instructions.Daily tasks include:Field Preparation & Planting: Preparing soil, laying plastic mulch, setting up drip irrigation lines, and transplanting delicate vegetable and melon seedlings into open fields.Crop Care: Walking rows to manually weed using hoes or hands, staking and tying tomato plants, pruning vines, and monitoring crops for pests or disease.Harvesting: Hand-harvesting eggplants, cucumbers, tomatoes, and watermelons based on maturity, size, and color. Workers must handle produce carefully to prevent bruising.

The employer will provide 2 days of on-the-job training to familiarize workers with harvesting standards, grading, and safety procedures.Physical Demands: Workers must be able to perform strenuous manual labor outdoors under variable weather conditions, including extreme heat, direct sunlight, rain, and cold. Work requires constant walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching for extended periods.Lifting Requirements: Must be able to lift, carry, and load heavy harvest crates and watermelons weighing up to 50 pounds frequently throughout the workday.Quality & Safety Standards: Workers must handle delicate produce carefully to avoid bruising or damaging the crops. Must be able to follow verbal or visual instructions regarding crop maturity, color sorting, and grading.Food Safety Compliance: Workers must strictly adhere to all post-harvest food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards as instructed by the employer to maintain complia
