- Job Duties:
- Workers will perform strenuous labor associated with harvesting, grading, packaging, and storing potatoes. Duties Include but not limited to, harvest work, sorting/grading on a moving conveyor belt to remove debris, rocks and defective product, and packaging potatoes into commercial bags, boxes and totes. This is an intensely physical role requiring high physical endurance. Workers must be able to: Repetitively lift, carry and stack bags weighing up to 50 pounds to heights of 5 feet for extended periods. Occasionally lifting and/or maneuver bulk loads up to 65 pounds. May drive and operate farm equipment and vehicles. Perform continuous, repetitive motions including bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, and standing on concrete or hard dirt floors for up to 8-10 hours per day. Work in a fast-paced environment where manual dexterity and rapid hand-eye coordination are required to keep up with the packing line. Operate in variable weather conditions, which may include cold, heat, wind, dust or dampness. Perform general cleanup of the packing and storage areas, which involves sweeping, shoveling debris, and lifting heavy equipment components for sanitation. Workers must be physically able to perform all duties described. Must be able to complete all terms and conditions of the contract. Workers must have 2 months of agricultural experience.
