Job Duties:

Crops: Leafy greens, including collards, kale, mustards, and turnips; cabbage, including bok choy and napa; peppers, including bell, jalapeno, serrano, poblano, tomatillos, habanero, and caribe; squash, including yellow, goldenrod, gray, and zucchini; herbs, including green onion, cilantro, and parsley; sweet corn; mini melons; beets; radish; citrus; pecans; eggplant; and broccoli, brussel sprouts, and cauliflower. Operate tractors, tractor drawn machinery, forklifts, maintain farm vehicles, implements and mechanical equipment. Apply fertilizers to crops. Inform managers of crop progress. Operate forklifts to load, unload, and transport agricultural materials like harvested produce, seeds, fertilizer, and heavy machinery between packing sheds, and cold storage units, loading and unloading bins and boxes from trucks with forklifts in shipping area, stacking and rotating crop inventory to ensure proper freshness, performing daily equipment inspections on fluids and tires, and strictly following OSHA regulations to maintain workplace safety, use specialized forklift attachments like clamps or rotators to handle large produce bins, adapt to harsh outdoor weather conditions or refrigerated facilities, and frequently assist with general farm tasks such as field sanitation, loading seed hoppers, or manually moving crates and boxes of produce, operates tractors to prepare soil, plant crops, and harvest yields across uneven terrain, pulling specialized implements like plows, seeders, and spreaders to cultivate fields, apply fertilizers, monitor computerized GPS guidance systems to ensure precise rows, perform routine maintenance on fluids and tires, attach heavy machinery attachments safely, haul loaded crop trailers to packing sheds, clear fields of debris, keeps agricultural vehicles, field machinery, functioning safely and efficiently, evaluate and request repairs on tractors, harvesters, forklifts, and implements like plows or seeders, troubleshoot, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engines alongside welding and fabricating custom parts to extend equipment lifespans, installs, operates, and repairs the water systems needed to keep crops hydrated and healthy, setting up and maintaining pivots, drip lines, pumps, and pipes to ensure even water distribution across fields, monitor water flow, troubleshoot leaks, and clear clogged nozzles or filters, winterize equipment to prevent freeze damage, patch or weld broken lines, and apply water-soluble fertilizers or chemicals directly through the irrigation system. Participate in irrigation activities including setting up and operating irrigation equipment and clearing and maintaining irrigation ditches. checker records, monitors, and verifies the quantity and quality of crops harvested by field workers to ensure accurate payroll and quality control using probes and data boards to log the volume of produce collected by each picker, visually inspect harvested crops for damage, disease, proper sizing, and foreign debris to maintain market standards before packing, insure food safety protocols, track overall daily harvest tallies, complete field harvest sanitation records, procure dirt and water samples.

Special Requirements:

Three months of verifiable experience required. Requires repetitive walking, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs. Work in inclement weather conditions including extreme heat, humidity, cold and/or rain. Must be 18 or older. Employer reserves the right to conduct employer-paid post-accident drug testing that is not part of the interview process. Any employee who declines to take or fails this drug test will be terminated and paid for all hours worked, if any.
