Job Duties:

After the grower/landowner cultivates the pine tree, which the forestry division marks, the workers will then manually gather pine straw by raking, baling, stacking, grading, sorting, and tying. Workers will clean field areas by picking up sticks before raking. Workers will also perform cleaning and weeding tasks. Workers may lift and carry up to 50lbs. All these jobs will be done under extreme sunlight; stooping, bending, and heavy lifting will be required of the workers.

50LB LIFTING TRAINING WITH EMPLOYER HEAVY BENDING AND STOOPING REPETITIVE MOVEMENTS 2 DAY TRAINING WITH EMPLOYER. The training period for all crop activities is 2 days starting with the first day of employment to acclimate the worker to the physical demands of farm work and to familiarize workers with the job specifications and to demonstrate proper harvest methods and other crop specific issues.
