Job Duties:

Job requires operating tractors and farm equipment to work ground, prepare and maintain land, plant crops, and maintain fields, wooded areas, and farm roads. Equipment workers may operate includes, but is not limited to, tractors with various implements, a bush hog, skid steer, excavator, ranger/UTV, log splitter, weed eater, blower, pressure washer, and farm vehicles. Workers will perform seasonal land and forestry maintenance, including bush hogging fields and property boundaries; clearing brush, fallen limbs, and other debris; cutting and handling trees and timber as needed to maintain the property; and maintaining wooded areas and access routes. Workers will install, repair, and maintain property boundary markers. They will also maintain farm roads by clearing overgrowth and debris, filling ruts and holes, grading surfaces, and making other necessary repairs to keep roads accessible for farm operations. Manual duties include, but are not limited to, loading seed into planters; changing implements on tractors and other farm equipment; removing undesirable plants, trash, and other objects from fields; stacking seed bags; shoveling dirt; pressure washing equipment; and performing general maintenance, repairs, and cleanup of storage sheds, buildings, farm vehicles, machinery, and equipment. Workers will use hand tools and equipment to perform these duties, regularly service equipment, and keep work areas organized and well maintained. There are few typical days, and workers may be required to change duties or work locations often and perform various general farm functions. Daily duties may vary depending on crop, weather, and field conditions. The employer reserves the right to increase workers’ pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors at the employer’s sole discretion.

Special Requirements:

Job requires having or being able to obtain a drivers license within 30 days of hire. Basic English literacy skills are required. Job will require periods when workers may be exposed to varying weather conditions and extensive pushing, pulling, sitting, walking, stooping, bending, or repetitive movements. Random drug testing and criminal background checks may occur post-hire at the employers expense. These checks may be performed to ensure safe housing and work environments for all workers. Positive drug test results or refusal to comply with testing may result in termination of employment. If the employer discovers a criminal conviction record or status as a registered sex offender that the employer reasonably believes, consistent with current law, will impair the safety and living conditions of other workers, the employer may terminate the worker (foreign and/or domestic) with notification to OFLC and DHS in accordance with 20 CFR 655.122(n).
