Job Duties:
Works in pork manufacturing processing plant which includes the harvest, fabrication, packaging and shipping operations. Fabrication includes breaking down the pork carcass into primal and sub-primal products. Job duties include but not limited to performing a variety of tasks which require the use of hand tools, knives, equipment while processing, packaging and shipping to wholesale, retail, export and further processing customers. Additionally, the job requires maintaining equipment in good working condition, cleaning and sanitizing equipment to ensure the production of a safe foods product. Work requires the product to be produced, packaged and shipped to set standards for quality and piece per hour specifications. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the job the employee will stand through the entire shift. The employee will regularly use repetitious upper body, hand and arm motion and grasping actions. The employee will regularly reach and twist with the upper body; grasp; and push/pull and lift up to 50 pounds. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee will encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. Depending on the specific function of the Production Worker, the environment may be hot, humid and odorous, or below 50 degrees Fahrenheit. There is frequent exposure to hog blood and the noise level is high. Before workers are hired, applicants are required to undergo a drug screen (paid for by the employer) and successfully pass a physical exam to ensure the applicant is physically capable of performing the job duties prior to hire. No education or prior work experience is required for this position. Employer will offer a minimum of 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday; some Saturdays and Sundays may be required based on operational needs. Depending on whether the worker is stationed on the hot or cold side, the shifts will begin either between 6:00-7 am or between 3:30 5 pm. Shifts are either 8, 10 or 12 hours shifts. Overtime is required as necessary in order to keep up with production demands. Workers are needed to begin work on 10/01/2020 through 05/31/2021. On-the-Job Training: On-the-job training will be provided to the worker.
