- The job of a net gunner is highly specialized. Job duties include net gunning from a helicopter. Animal handling on the ground. Animal blood sampling taken. Net packing. Equipment maintenance. Equipment to use includes net gun and dart gun. The job is contingent on weather.

- Net gunning is a highly specialized and dangerous job that requires years of experience, as well as an uncommon lifestyle. The net gunner who works closely with a specialized helicopter pilot must have the experience and knowledge of handling techniques. This is imperative to the safety of the crew. The crew will be weeks traveling in remote areas in different counties within the state.
