- Job Duties:
- Job requires the preparation of a large decked fishing vessel, skiff, or small decked vessel for all fishing activities. More specifically, workers will navigate in state waters, use dredges, GPS, and radars to locate, catch; gather oysters from rivers, bayous, and bays for human consumption. Deckhands will use techniques and equipment for planting, growing, culling, and harvesting oysters. Workers will cull, return undesirable catch back to the water, clean, sack, tag, unload, and store catch. Upon return to the dock, Deckhands will assist the captain, wash deck, conveyors, and other equipment as well as assist in boats' maintenance and minor repairs as necessary.
