Job Duties:

1. Perform tire repair, tire installation, tire balancing, tire rotation, tire safety inspections, and tire studding for snow conditions. 2. Raise vehicles, using hydraulic jacks. 3. Remount wheels onto vehicles. 4. Unbolt and remove wheels from vehicles, using lug wrenches or other hand or power tools. 5. Place wheels on balancing machines to determine counterweights required to balance wheels. 6. Identify tire size and ply and inflate tires accordingly. 7. Replace valve stems and remove puncturing objects. 8. Hammer required counterweights onto rims of wheels. 9. Reassemble tires onto wheels. 10. Seal punctures in tubeless tires by inserting adhesive material and expanding rubber plugs into punctures, using hand tools. 11. Inspect tire casings for defects, such as holes or tears. 12. Complete work orders documenting work performed. 13. Maintain safe and clean shop conditions throughout workday, in connection with each work order or service performed.

The position does not require any particular educational background, prior training, special skills, and does not carry any other special requirements. **F.a.5 A-H** Shifts will be available M-F 8a-6p and Sat 8a-3p. Employees are permitted a total of 1 hour of break each workday. Some holiday and/or weekend work is required. This is a full-time position, meaning that each Tire Technician will work AT LEAST 4 days/week, or AT LEAST 36 hours/week (excluding daily one hour breaks). Most workers will work AT LEAST 5 days/week, or AT LEAST 42-45 hours/week (excluding daily one hour breaks). This means that overtime will sometimes be required (paid at the standard 1.5x rate, or between $25.50/hour to $31.50/hour). Maximum weekly hours, including overtime, are not expected to exceed 51 working hours per week (excluding daily one hour breaks).
