Job Duties:

Applicants will mix mortar, plaster, and grout manually or using machines, and supply materials to masons for installation. Erect scaffolding or other installation structures. Operate cranes, hoists, or other moving or lifting equipment. Modify material moving, mixing, grouting, grinding, polishing, or cleaning procedures according to installation or material requirements. Position requires transport of materials, tools, and equipment to installation sites. Applicants will provide assistance in the preparation, installation, repair, or rebuilding of tile, brick, or stone surfaces. They will apply grout, caulk, sealant, and other agents to installed surfaces as well as correct imperfections, fill chipped, cracked, or broken stone. Applicants will remove damaged tile, brick, stone, mortar, and clean or prepare surfaces using pliers, hammers, chisels, wire brushes, or metal wire anchors. Locate, supply, and arrange or store materials, machines, tools, or equipment. Applicants will move or position materials using cranes, hoists, dollies or other equipment. They will also clean installation surfaces, equipment, tools, work sites, and storage areas.

Applicants must be of physical character able to display strength and dexterity in both arms and hands, exhibit trunk strength using abdominal and lower back muscles continually over time, as well as be able to spend the majority of the work day outdoors, in all weather, standing without giving out. Repeated heavy lifting is required. Position requires the ability to understand and follow verbal and written directions with exactness and integrity. No experience or prior training/education required. Applicants will be trained in proper wearing and use of safety guidelines, tools, and equipment including hand tools, forklifts, hearing protection, safety glasses, steel toed boots, and gloves and will be required to comply with exactness.
