Job Duties:
Preparation and startup of factory operations. Assistance with the following calibration activities for startup of steam heated vacuum pans, centrifuges, mud filters, and evaporators: Conduct hydraulic testing on heat exchangers/calandrias. Calibrate the instruments in the vacuum system that pertain to sugar concentration. Test vacuum systems in the filters for better sugar extraction. Calibrate settings on pans including find ideal amounts of vacuum for the crystallization of sugar which changes depending on the quality of material received. Adjust temperature controls and pressure switches for pan operation. Fine tune automation and settings to operate pans to make Very High Pol Sugar as required by refinery. Set mud filter drums for optimal filtration throughout the harvest season. Calibrate the automation of both continuous and batch centrifuges. Create seed stock for pans to operate. Determine rates for adjustments in starch and dextran. Will work shifts of 12:00 am-12:00pm and/or 12:00 pm-12:00 am; Mon-Sun; 48 hours/week; Overtime Offered: 36hrs
