Job duties include net gunning from a helicopter; Animal handling on the ground; Animal blood sampling taken; Net packing; Equipment maintenance; Use of net gun and dart gun; fuel truck driving. The net gunner will drive truck and help with helicopter fueling and must have a driver’s license

Netgunning is a highly specialized and dangerous job that requires years of experience, as well as an uncommon lifestyle. The net gunner works closely with a specialized pilot and must have the experience and knowledge in this type of work. This is imperative for the crews safety. The net gunner must have experience in handling and mugging techniques; taking biological samples, radio collar placement, ear tagging; GPS recording and taking and recording body measurements. The net gunner must have gunned out of a MD500 or Hughes 300 and R44 helicopters and be able to lift up to 200 lbs. The crew will be traveling for weeks in remote areas. 24 months of training in wildlife capture; 24 months experience in wildlife capture (5 month season = 5 years); Caught and handled over 5000 head of wildlife; Caught and handled over 10 large game species; Completed WCE factory net gun capture course; experienced in net gun, chemical and mass capture; Experienced in taking biological samples, radio collar placement, ear tagging; Experienced in GPS recording, taking and recording body measurements; Experience in mugging techniques; Understanding onset and prevention of capture myopathy, bloat and hyperthermia; Must be willing to work exclusively for Heliwild LLC and sign company non compete contract.
