- Job Duties:
- This position assists in producing, packaging, storing powder sugar and bulk bags of granulated sugar. Have the capability to learn to load sugar in a safe and efficient manner into bulk railcars and trucks for delivery to customers while meeting their expectations for quality and food safety. A Sugar Packager/Loader Helper must assist in the operation of sugar packaging and associated equipment, and the warehouse. Have the capability to be trained to assist the Sugar Loader Lead Person in loading sugar into bulk railcars and trucks for delivery to customers, as directed, safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all safety, food safety, food quality, and sanitation programs, and environmental permits. A Sugar Packager/Loader Helper must be able to understand and operate the following and any related equipment: Powdered Sugar Production and Packaging Equipment Bulk Bagging Equipment Railroad Equipment, including trackmobile, railcars, scales, etc. Safety, Food Safety, Food Quality and HACCP Programs, Reports, Equipment, etc. Other Specialized Equipment. A Sugar Packager/Loader Helper must be capable of the following: Develop new skills of self and others through training. Assure that all work areas are kept clean within the safety, food safety, food quality, and sanitation guidelines. Complete reports as required (Must be able to certify understanding of environmental requirements). Use people, time, equipment, and material in the most efficient manner. Report mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, environmental, food safety, food quality, and operational problems, and unsafe conditions to supervisor. Other duties as required by the business. Adhere to all company policies and all safety, food safety, food quality, feed safety, and sanitation rules and programs. Ability to read, write, and follow instructions. Must be motivated, willing, enthusiastic, and promotable. Must have good attendance, safety, disciplinary, and overall employment records. Must have the ability to communicate and work cohesively with others. Must have successful completion of forklift training and testing (Training provided onsite by employer). Must be organized with excellent time management skills. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels. Must have the ability to stand or walk for an entire 8 hour shift if necessary. Must have the ability to bend, lift, and climb stairs and ladders. Must have the ability to work in a hot atmosphere on a continual basis.
Employer will offer approximately 40 hours of work per week. Facility is open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Workdays will vary Sunday through Saturday. Rotating shifts: 8am-4pm, 4pm-12am, 12am-8am. Workdays and shift times may vary.
Basic wage rate: $19.78 per hour. Employer may increase wage based on experience, changes in market conditions, and/or provide additional pay for performance and tenure. An overtime premium will be paid when required by Federal, State, or local law, including at time-and-a-half after 40 hours per work week. Generally, when overtime is available it will be paid at $29.67 after 8 hours per shift.
Employer will provide on-the-job training.
The employer will provide worker at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform job. Uniform pieces provided at no cost to employee.
