Job Duties:

Under the direction and supervision of the tile settler foreman, the tile setter helper will assist with the application of hard tile, stone, and comparable materials on swimming pools by performing duties requiring less skill. The tile setter helper will use hand and power tools such as trowels, grout floats, brushes, screeds, levels, and tile spacers. The tile setter helper will assist to shape the tile to fit around obstacles and into odd spaces and corners. The tile setter helper will assist to mix, apply, and spreading plaster, concrete, mortar, cement, mastic, glue, or other adhesives to form a bed for the tiles, using a brush, trowel, and screed. The tile setter helper will assist to apply mortar to the back of the tile, positioning the tile, and pressing or tapping with a trowel to affix the tile to the base. The tile setter helper will assist in installing mastic and performing small repairs in order to weather-proof jobs. The tile setter helper will wipe excess grout from between tiles and apply a sealer to make grout stain and water-resistant. The tile setter helper will carry tile and stone material, and all tools to the job site and clean up job sites as needed. The tile setter helper will help prepare the work equipment and trucks for the new season.
