Job Duties:

***RFI Response*** Perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. Unload materials, lay out lumber, pre-fab concrete panels, tin sheets and siding, trusses, and other components for building structures. Build and erect walls and trusses. Lift tin sheets and siding to roof and walls, install doors, and caulk structure. May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, and clean up rubble, debris, and other waste materials. May assist other craft workers. Tend pumps, compressors, or generators to provide power for tools, machinery, or equipment or to heat or move materials, such as asphalt. Lubricate, clean, or repair machinery, equipment, or tools. Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials. Measure, mark, or record openings or distances to layout areas where construction work will be performed. Position, join, align, or seal structural components, such as concrete wall sections or pipes. Smooth or finish freshly poured cement or concrete, using floats, trowels, screeds, or powered cement finishing tools. Perform building weatherization tasks, such as repairing windows, adding insulation, or applying weather-stripping materials. Raze buildings or salvage useful materials. Position or dismantle forms for pouring concrete, using saws, hammers, nails, or bolts. ***Original F.a.2*** As a construction laborer, worker will perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. This position will consist of prep work, placement, installation, curing, cutting, and more. The majority of work to be performed includes footings and foundations, retaining wall foundations, building floors, driveways and aprons. Worker may operate hand and power tools of all types including air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and variety of other equipment and instruments. Work also may include cleaning and preparing sites, dig trenches, set braces, to support the side of excavations, erecting scaffolding and cleaning up rubble, debris, and other waste materials. Workers will construct buildings such as commercial shop and industrial buildings. Job duties that are involved but are not limited to,site preparation, onsite physical labor, use of power tools, welding, reading and interpreting blueprints, clean- up work, and ability to work at heights exceeding 100ft. Employees will be traveling to the job sites throughout the area of intended employment. Due to the rural population in South Dakota, this type of travel is customary.

Special Requirements:

Must have 3 months experience in construction or related field. Ability to lift up to and in excess of 75lbs. Ability to wear personal protective equipment and any other safety-related equipment. Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and elements, indoor or outdoor including heat, cold, rain, mud, dust, and snow depending on job location. Ability to work a 40-hour week.
