Job Duties:

Provide childcare for toddler and preschooler; Ensure safety and security of children at all times; Provide transport to and from pre-K education program for older child; Promote growth and development through structured activities and unstructured play time; Promote literacy through story-telling, reading, song, and dance; Promote recognition of numbers, colors, letters through practice and positive reinforcement; Model observations regarding basic mathematical concepts, such as smaller, larger, more, less, and begin to introduce addition/subtraction; Enforce behavioral expectations, including consistently stating expectations for mannerly conduct; Model being kind, considerate, gentle, and quiet when others are working or sleeping; Respond to unwanted behavior consistently through ignoring and time out (1 minute per age); Enforce household rules, protecting house structure, items, and pets; Ensure clean up routines as part of wrapping up activities; Meal and snack preparation (using indicated ingredients); Light household cleaning, including washing dishes associated with children’s’ meals and feeding, cleaning up from activities and general straightening and spot cleaning as needed, sweeping of wood floors and vacuuming rugs on a weekly basis.
