The Department of Labor recently announced new minimum wage rates, called Adverse Effect Wage Rates (AEWRs), that employers must offer and pay, at the time work is performed, to nonimmigrant H-2A workers and workers in corresponding employment beginning on the effective date of the new wage rates. Job Duties:
Under supervision, perform manual labor necessary to maintain and protect timer tracts and forests; plant seedlings to reforest timberlands, dig holes for seedlings, pack soil around seedling with planting tool, and ensure protective maintenance of seedling by spraying/clearing/netting/thinning surrounding vegetation; perform other tasks including pre-commercial thinning, trapping mountain beavers, eliminating unwanted shrubs, burning slash piles, wildfire fighting when needed, hack and squirt spray and reforestation maintenance.
