Job Duties:

Trims and/or removes trees by climbing with aid of ladder, safety belt, climbing line, powered trimmer lifter truck, or works from the ground using hand or power saws, pruners, clippers to maintain right-of-way for roads, sidewalks, or utilities. Cuts branches/trunk sections and drops or lowers these to ground with lines. Clean up debris using a wood chipper and wedges/chainsaw. Spray stumps/brush to prevent further growth. May repair slight damage to lawns, fences and walks caused by tree trimming. Clean, sharpen, and lubricate tools and equipment. May clean work areas and equipment, safeguards employees and public from hazards in and around work area, load and unload equipment/materials/supplies. Must follow all safety regulations and Nelson Tree Service, LLC safety guidelines, including but not limited to employer-provided personal protective equipment.

Special Requirements:

Requires six months of tree trimming/climbing experience or equivalent commercial tree trimming/climbing training certification. Must lift/carry 50 lbs., when necessary. Standard workweek is 4 days per week. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday work required, when necessary. Employer-paid drug testing required of foreign and domestic workers prior to commencing work and post-hire upon suspicion of use and post-accident. Additional post-hire drug testing required of all new foreign and domestic workers if worker holds a CDL license and is driving a company vehicle (driving is not a requirement of all workers in the position). Post-hire employment eligibility (e-Verify) check required of foreign and domestic workers. Employer may offer more than the stated work hours, depending on weather, business needs, and other conditions. Extreme heat, cold, rain, or drought may affect exact working hours.
